Mayor and City Councal <br />Ron Maorse, City Administrator <br />FROM: Kristine Giga, Civil Engineer <br />Greg Haag, Public Works Director <br />SLIBJECT: Valentine Lake Subwatershed Drainage Study <br />�ACKGR4UND <br />The City of Arden HilIs appz-oved an engineering consultant pool an AUgust 27, 2007 for use on <br />specialized projects or projects that the City of Raseville's Engineering Department �nay not <br />have tne capacity to assist with. <br />'The City Council inc{icated a desire to stttdy the dra�nage issues associated with Valentrne Park. <br />The park currently is prone to flooding, which has delayeci pIans for future park irnprovements. <br />In order to appropriately plan for the park's fiiture, an analysis needs to be comp�eted �n the <br />st�rround�ng area to better understand the exis�ing drainage patterns and develop alternatives for <br />improvenaents. City staff reviewed proposaIs submitted by the �rms in its surface water <br />resaurces engineering pool, and is recommending WSB & Associates, Inc. for this work. <br />DISCUS�ION <br />Praposals were submitted by all three firms in the surface water resources engineering pool: Barr <br />Enginee�ing Company, Kimley-Harn anc� Associates, Inc., and WSB and Associates, Inc. This <br />contraet will be a not to exceed cost based on actua� �ours spent on the praject.
