An�.ersen served the people af Minnes�ta, For �naz�zy years and in many <br />capaci#ies, �cluduig that o#� Governor, State Senator, and Chairman of t�Ze University af <br />Minnesota Board oiRegents; <br />WHEREAS, Gavernor Andersen had a deep and abiding interest in preserving the nai�iral and <br />historical resaurccs of the State and Narion for the use ar�d enjoyment of the general public; <br />'�'VHEREAS, Govemor A�dersen was instruEnental in the creatian of Voyageurs Natior�a� Park, <br />the Unive�sity of Minnesota Landscape Arhoretum's Andersen Horticulturai Library and the <br />Ranasey Caun�Ey Historical Society along with the restora�ion and inte�pretation of �nany state <br />historic sit�.s; <br />W�TEREAS, Gover�or Anderser� was recognized by the Izaak Walton League and the <br />Minnesota Park� and Trails Council for his tireless efforts in conservation and nah�ral resource <br />pro#ectior�; <br />W�iEREAS, G�o�ernor Andersen lived on the shares of' Lake Johaanna for a quarter ceniury, <br />gaining pieasure and perspective from the natural resources a£Ardez� Hills; <br />WHEREAS, Arden Hills, Ramsey Courity and New Brigfaton ha�ve the opporttu�ty to create a <br />regional trail �inicing two regional parks, consistent wit�► Governor Andersen's s�ated intere�ts. <br />NOW, TH�REk'ORE, BE IT R�SOLVED t�at the City of Arden �Iiils dedicates ana <br />designates the existing segment of #sail extending northeast fram the intersection of Cieveland <br />and County Road D to the boundary of Tony Schmidt Regional Park as the Eimer L.
