EN HILLS - <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: April 11,2011 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmcmbers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator �? <br /> pw <br /> FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director -M <br /> r <br /> SUBJECT: I-694 Noise Analysis Review <br /> Backuround <br /> At the March 28, 2011, City Council meeting the Council asked for Mark Lindeberg, <br /> North Area Engineer from Mn/DOT, and Chris Chromy from Bolton and Menk, the <br /> City's consultant for the I-694 project, to come to tonight's work session to present a <br /> historical recap of the noise analysis issues over the past several years. Noise analysis for <br /> the I-694 corridor started back in 2007 when the Environmental Assessment was <br /> prepared for the entire segment from 35E to 35W. <br /> Staff has met with Mark and Chris regarding their discussion on Monday evening. Their <br /> recap will include: <br /> • A brief discussion of Federal and Minnesota noise standards and how they apply <br /> to the proposed I-694/TH 51 project <br /> • A discussion of the various noise analysis that were performed for this project <br /> along with the results <br /> • A discussion of the Noise Advisory Committee (NAC)process <br /> • Some general comments about highway noise as presented during the three NAC <br /> meetings <br /> The noise analysis components of the I-694 project have been completed and approved <br /> by the Federal Highway Administration and Mn/DOT. The purpose of tonight's <br /> discussion is to remind the Council of the analysis findings and the process that has taken <br /> place over the past several years.
