Parks, Trails & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes May 17, 2011 <br />Page 5 <br />Ms. Olson indicated that for 2013 the projects were basically the same because they are annual <br />projects, but she did include the West Round Lake Trail; however, there is an easement issue <br />because they need to get an easement through Deluxe. <br />Ms. Olson pointed out that the projects listed under 2014 -2016 are just placeholders and that <br />the main focus is on the current two years. <br />Discussion ensued about the trails and it was decided to move the 2014 Snelling Avenue <br />Regional Trail up to 2013 in place of the West Round Lake Road Trail. <br />Ms. Olson indicated that the 2015 County Road E Trail might possibly be moved up to 2014 if <br />the City decides to advance construct. She stated she only included this in 2015 since that is <br />when Mn/DOT is funding. <br />Ms. Olson also informed the committee members that the first playground structure <br />replacement would be in 2016 for Perry Park. <br />D. Other New Business <br />None <br />5. REPORTS <br />A. City Council Report <br />Ms. Olson gave a brief report in Council Liaison Werner's absence. She informed the <br />committee that there is a proposal for the old Holiday Inn site for a Senior Assisted Living <br />facility and there will be some park dedication fee proposals for that site. <br />Ms. Olson indicated that Arden Plaza has a concept of having a CVS where the pod buildings <br />are on County Road E and that this will be coming to Council. <br />B. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Report <br />Ms. Olson indicated that six seasonal employees will be starting in Public Works. <br />She also indicated the parks have new recycle bins because of a St. Paul /Ramsey County <br />Health Department grant. All recycle bins were free with the idea that the City would collect <br />the recyclables and encourage recycling throughout the community. <br />Ms. Olson informed that she continues to work on "Celebrating Arden Hills" and will doing a <br />similar setup as last year where they will have events at Tony Schmidt but instead of <br />partnering with Presbyterian Homes they will be partnering with Bethel University to do an art <br />display. So far, $6,700 has been received in sponsorships. <br />
