ARZENHILLS <br />Approved: August 8, 2011 <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />JULY 18, 2011 <br />7:00 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor David Grant called to order the regular City <br />Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br />Present: Mayor David Grant; Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Fran Holmes, and <br />Nicholas Tamble. <br />Absent: Ed Werner (excused) <br />Also present: City Administrator Patrick Klaers; City Planner Meagan Beekman; <br />Community Development Intern Mei -Ling Anderson; Director of Finance and <br />Administrative Services Sue Iverson; Public Works Director Terry Maurer; Parks and <br />Recreation Manager Michelle Olson; and Deputy Clerk Rebecca Brazys. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />MOTION: Councilmember Holden moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br />motion to Approve the Agenda as presented. The motion carried <br />unanimously (4 -0). <br />2. AGENDA ITEMS <br />A. State Budget <br />Mayor Grant explained that he called this special meeting because of the state budget agreement <br />and the possibility that the stadium bill would be discussed at a special session this week. He <br />wanted Council to be prepared to take action and was looking for an update on this issue from <br />Staff. <br />City Administrator Klaers explained that Staff anticipated there would be something new to <br />report regarding the State budget and a special session. He stated that the legislative process has <br />not gone as smoothly as anticipated and that no special session has yet been called by the <br />
