EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: October 18, 2011 <br />TO: Parks Trails and Recreation Committee <br />FROM: Michelle Olson, Parks and Recreation Manager <br />SUBJECT: Committee Member Terms and Committee Chair for 2012 <br />Agenda Item: 4.B. <br />Background <br />The following members have terms expiring in 2011: <br />Cindy Garretson <br />Chuck Michaelson <br />Nancy O'Malley <br />Steve Scott <br />The City Deputy Clerk sent a card asking if each of them would like to be reappointed to a new <br />term. Staff is asking for all committee members with terms expiring to inform the Deputy Clerk <br />by December 1St, if they are interested in being reappointed. The mayor will be appointing all <br />committee members at the first meeting in January. If all members return, the PTRC will have 9 <br />members. The bylaws allow up to 12 members for this committee, leaving 3 openings. If <br />anyone knows of a resident interested in applying, please refer them to myself or our website for <br />more information. <br />In addition, Steve Scott is serving as Chairman for 2011. Staff is looking for a recommendation <br />from the committee on a 2012 chairman. This recommendation does not need to be given until <br />the December PTRC meeting. All Chairmen are appointed at the same time (First meeting in <br />January) as the committee members. <br />Action Requested <br />Staff provided this information in order for the PTRC to be prepared to make a recommendation <br />in December on reappointments and committee chairman. <br />10182011 Committee terms and chairman - 2012.doc <br />
