Draft resolution of support <br /> 2. Legislative talking points <br /> 3. Senate hearings scheduled for November 29 and December 6 <br /> • Draft Resolution of Support <br /> Based on City Council discussion and comments at the November 14, 2011 City Council <br /> meeting, staff is preparing a draft resolution of support for the Council's review. The resolution <br /> is fairly lengthy and the City Council may want to consider whether any of the clauses could be <br /> removed. Of course, the City Council may also choose to add sections. The draft resolution will <br /> be available Monday evening. <br /> Once approved, the resolution will be permanently in the public domain and may be referred to <br /> by the media and legislators. <br /> Legislative talking points <br /> The City Council has directed staff to meet with legislators regarding the benefits of the Arden <br /> Hills stadium proposal Staff has met with House Speaker Kurt Zellers, Senate Majority Leader <br /> Amy Koch, Senator Barbara Goodwin, Representative Kate Knuth, and Governor Dayton. <br /> Mayor Grant and Councilmember Holden also participated in the meeting with the Governor. <br /> In preparation for these meetings, staff prepared "talking points." Talking points are generally <br /> very brief and are written to be persuasive and accurate. <br /> Councilmembers have raised concerns on two of the City's talking points. Red-lined suggested <br /> changes are attached.
