� <br />EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: December 12, 2011 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />FROM: Sue Iverson, Finance Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br />SUBJECT: Adoption of the 2012 City Contribution for Employee Benefits <br />Background <br />Each year in December, the City sets the monthly contribution rate for employee benefits <br />for the next year. <br />Discussion <br />As part of the annual budget and levy adoption process, the Council is also asked to <br />approve the 2012 City contribution for employee benefits. The City contribution rate is <br />currently set by increasing the current contribution by 50% of the increase in premiums <br />for the next year of the HSA plan. The employee contribution rate of $697.42 per <br />month per employee for 2012 has been calculated into the proposed 2012 budget as <br />discussed at previous Council worksessions. (For reference, the 2010 & 2011 rate was <br />$680.21 per month per employee, the increase is $17.21 per month) <br />Council Action <br />Motion to adopt Resolution 2011-058, a Resolution setting the City Contribution to <br />Employee Monthly Benefits at the amount of $697.42 per month, per employee (provided <br />they participate in the HSA plan or have family coverage, single coverage amount only if <br />they participate in the Co-Pay Plan). <br />City Council Meeting <br />P:�Admin\Council�Agendas & Packet Information�2011\12-12-11 Regular�Packet Information�2,012 City <br />Benefit Contribution.doc <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />
