Ms. Pederson moved, seconded by Ms. <br /> Petersen that the agenda be approved. Motion carried. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> Chair Straumann asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2007 meeting.A request <br /> was made to modify the February 13, 2007 minutes by removing Larry Holmberg as an attendee and adding <br /> Stan Linnell as an observer. Ms. Falkowski moved, seconded by Ms. Pederson, that the minutes of the <br /> February 13, 2007 meeting be approved as modified. Motion carried. <br /> REVIEW OF PRELIMINARY DESTINATION CONCEPTS AND SITE PLAN FOR TAMARACK NATURE <br /> CENTER <br /> Mr. Mack provided the Commission with an overview of the consultant's preliminary interpretive, site <br /> plan/analysis and exhibit plan for Tamarack Nature Center's Destination of Discovery. More information will <br /> be forthcoming in the next several weeks. <br /> DESIGN AND COST ESTIMATE FOR A SNOWMAKING SYSTEM AT BATTLE CREEK REGIONAL PARK <br /> Mr. Mack presented the feasibility study completed by SEH for the installation of snowmaking equipment at <br /> Battle Creek Regional Park. The cost for snowmaking for the cross-country ski trail alone is estimated to be <br /> $2.6 million. The consultant provided two additional options: One option in addition to the ski trail was <br /> adding a temporary system for the ski/sledding hill at a cost of$212,000. The second option provides a <br /> permanent snowmaking system for the ski/sledding hill at a cost of$291,000. <br /> TONY SCHMIDT MASTER PLAN CHANGES <br /> The Tony Schmidt Regional Park Master Plan was presented to the Arden Hills City Council on March 12, <br /> 2007. The City Council approved the Master Plan with the modification that the trail along Lake Joanna <br /> Boulevard (Elms Anderson Trail Extension)will take priority over the west side of the trail system around <br /> Farrel's Lake. <br /> DIRECTOR'S REPORT <br /> ♦ A study has been completed to assess the future operations of the Ramsey Nursing Home.
