�r <br /> LCriteria for Bench Corridor Projects <br /> FNC <br /> Active living Ramsey County <br /> 1. Routes should be considered corridors that are designed to connect <br /> destinations. <br /> 2. Destinations include community gathering places, public or private. <br /> 3. Benches should be placed in a visibly continuous corridor so that people <br /> can see the next bench. <br /> 4. Benches should have a distance apart ranging from 50 ft. — % mile apart. <br /> 5. Benches will be the design and materials specified by ALRCI <br /> 6. Applicants must include a map indicating each individual bench <br /> installation, indicating destinations and bench placement. <br /> 7. Benches shall be accessible and without barriers, and be placed in a <br /> manner to assure use.(See Bench Site Recommendations) <br /> 8. Each bench shall be installed in the design outlined by ALRC. This will <br /> include three plaques set into the concrete pad anchoring the bench. One <br /> plaque shall include a quote, the other two plaques shall be sponsor <br /> plaques, one designed by ALRC and Ramsey County Public Health, and <br /> the other recognizing the local financial sponsor. <br /> 9. Quotes to be used for the plaques must come from the list of quotes <br /> supplied by ALRC. At least half the quotes must be from the <br /> Environment/Recycling topics list. <br /> 10.Grantees will be responsible for: <br /> a. 50% of the cost of the benches, plaques, and concrete and identify <br /> the funding for the local match. Funding can be public, private, or a <br /> combination of sources. For example, a city may decide to fund the <br /> local share in its entirety or solicit donations for individuals or <br /> organizations to sponsor benches. <br /> b. Assembly and installation of benches <br /> c. Ongoing maintenance of benches <br /> d.
