Neighborhoods across the state display outdoor lights, front porch vigils, <br />and celebrate with a variety of events and activities, including block parties and cookouts. <br />On Tuesday August 7, 2012, from 5-9 pm, community officials, fire departments and Ramsey County <br />Sheriff s Office representatives will be visiting neighborhood gatherings in Arden Hills, Gem Lake, Little <br />Canada, North Oaks, Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, and VJhite Bear Township to celebrate the fourth <br />annual Night to Unite. <br />"Night to Unite has proven to be an effective, inexpensive, and enjoyable opportunity to promote <br />neighborhood spirit and community partnerships that help build safer communities," Sheriff Matt <br />Bostrom said. "Community benefits include neighbors getting to know each other and the public safety <br />agencies that serve them." <br />Night to Unite is designed to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention; generate support, and <br />participation, for local anti-crime programs; and strengthen neighborhood spirit along with police- <br />community partnerships.
