lt <br /> EN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 13, 2012 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: All-Hazard Mitigation Plan <br /> Background/Discussion <br /> Ramsey County Emergency Management and Homeland Security staff is requesting that <br /> all cities in the county adopt the Ramsey County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Plan <br /> outlines goals, objectives and strategies for the county in order to coordinate efforts to <br /> reduce the effects of disasters. Adoption of this Plan by Ramsey County and all the <br /> cities, will allow us to then be eligible for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program project <br /> funds. These funds will help to offset the costs of some of the mitigation projects set <br /> forth in the Plan. <br /> Attached is the Press Release dated June 28, 2012, that announces the Ramsey County <br /> public meetings to present the Plan. I attended the July 11, 2012, afternoon meeting. <br /> Also attached is the Executive Summary of the Plan and a page off of the Ramsey County <br /> website that includes a link to the Plan and brief description of the Plan. <br /> The final attachment is the City Resolution adopting the Plan. Ramsey County is <br /> scheduled to adopt the Plan on September 4, 2012. <br /> Recommendation <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve Resolution 2012-025 that adopts the <br /> Ramsey County All-Hazard Mitigation Plan. <br /> Attachments• <br /> Press Release dated June 28, 2012 <br /> Executive Summary of the Plan <br /> Page off the Ramsey County Website <br /> Resolution 2012-025 <br />
