EN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 27, 2012 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director -11 AV <br /> SUBJECT: Lift Station #1 & #12 Improvements - Partial Pay Request 92 <br /> Backt4round <br /> Lift Station#1 and #12 Improvements was bid to have a contractor install new structures <br /> and piping at each location, remove the old lift station structure and then install new <br /> pumps, control panels and other equipment provided by the City. The City contracted <br /> directly with Electric Pump Company to provide these items for Lift Stations #1 and#12. <br /> The City Council awarded Magney Construction, Inc., Lift Stations #1 and #12 <br /> Improvements on April 30, 2012, including the forcemain replacement at Lift Station#12 <br /> in the amount of$291,620.00. <br /> Discussion <br /> This second pay request is for site grading, sanitary sewer piping, directional bore of <br /> forcemain, and internal piping. The total pay request is in the amount of $209,860.00. <br /> Attached is a letter dated July 11, 2012, from Elfering and Associates indicating they <br /> have inspected the work performed and recommending payment. <br /> After retainage of 5% ($10,493.00) is withheld from the payment and previous payments <br /> of $64,030.00, the total due the contractor for Partial Pay Request #2 is $135,337.00. <br /> This project is being totally funded from the Sanitary Sewer Fund. <br /> Council Action Requested <br /> Approve Partial Pay Request #2 to Magney Construction, Inc., in the amount of <br /> $135,337.00 for Lift Station#1 and#12 Improvements. <br /> City Council Meeting <br /> P:\PR&PW\Numbered Projects\PW-12-0107 LS 1 and 12 Reconstruction\04 construction\Payments\7-30- <br /> 12LS 112Payment#2.doc <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br />
