t <br /> '!Tt <br /> ,-A E_N HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: December 7,2005 Agenda Item 3.F. <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Michelle Wolfe, City Administrator <br /> Schawn Johnson, Assistant to the City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Proposed Elected Official Out-of-State Travel Policy <br /> Background <br /> During the 2005 Minnesota Legislative Session, Minnesota State Statute 471.661 was passed <br /> requiring all statutory or home rule charter cities, counties, school districts, and other <br /> government affiliated agencies to develop a policy that controls out-of-state travel and <br /> conference expenditures for elected officials. All government agencies that are affected by this <br /> legislation must adopt an out-of-state travel policy by December 31, 2005. .� <br /> For your review, I have attached a copy of Minnesota State Statute 471.661 and a copy of the <br /> proposed City policy.
