The Operations Section Chief directs the tactical implementation of the <br /> IAP. All participants agree on the designation of the Operations Section <br /> Chief. <br /> `-' Life safety operations are the highest priority Incident Objectives and will <br /> be initiated by the first arriving resources capable of performing rescue. <br /> Life safety operations in-progress will not be disrupted or suspended <br /> because of transition of command to other agencies. <br /> Unified Command - <br /> In some circumstances, the severity or complexity of an emergency will <br /> threaten to overwhelm the resources of the initial entity's responders <br /> resulting in requests for additional agencies — possibly including agencies <br /> from multiple jurisdictions. In these cases, the NIMS concept of Unified <br /> Command is utilized. <br /> Responding agencies commanders will co-locate at the Incident <br /> Command Post collocate at the Incident Command Post and <br /> • Assign an Operations Section Chief for each operational period. <br /> • Keep each other informed of specific requirements. <br /> • Develop a consolidated Incident Action Plan (IAP), written or oral, <br /> that is evaluated and updated at regular intervals. <br /> • Establish procedures for joint decision making and documentation <br /> 35 <br />
