FEDERAL AND STATE SUPPORT <br /> L <br /> GENERAL <br /> EMHS will assist in obtaining any state or federal government resources that may <br /> be needed as a result of a disaster. In carrying out this responsibility, the director <br /> will contact the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of Homeland <br /> Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) regional program coordinator. <br /> This person can provide technical information and assistance, if requested. <br /> An outline of expected state and federal support is detailed earlier in this <br /> plan. A more exhaustive summary of state and federal disaster assistance <br /> that may be available is contained in the Minnesota Emergency <br /> Management Director's Handbook. This document is on file with EMHS. <br /> STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES <br /> A summary of State and Federal programs available to local governments <br /> that are experiencing or have experienced a disaster is contained in the <br /> Minnesota Disaster Management Handbook and the Recovery from <br /> Disaster Handbook. These documents are available through HSEM <br /> and/or the City of Saint Paul Director of Emergency Management and/or <br /> Emergency Preparedness Coordinator. <br /> Minnesota Department of Public Safety—Division of Homeland Security and <br /> Emergency Management (HSEM) <br /> HSEM is the central point of contact within the State of Minnesota for a <br /> wide range of emergency management resources. <br /> Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) <br /> FEMA is the central point of contact within the federal government for a <br /> wide range of emergency management resources. <br /> FEDERAL ASSISTANCE-HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENTS <br /> Federal Assistance can be accessed through the State Duty Officer at <br /> HSEM (651) 649-5451 or(800) 422-0798. <br /> MINNESOTA DUTY OFFICER <br /> The purpose of the 24-hour Minnesota State Duty Officer program is to <br /> provide a single point of contact for public and private sector entities to <br /> request state-level assistance as needed or when a state-level notification <br /> is required. <br /> 99 <br />
