Ramsey County-Wide Emergency Operations Plan Revision 5.1 June,2005 <br /> Nuclear Weapons -A general name given to any weapon in which the explosion <br /> results from the energy released by reactions involving atomic nuclei, either <br /> fission or fusion, or both. <br /> NWS - National Weather Service <br /> O <br /> Operations Plan -A description of actions to be taken in facing an anticipated <br /> disaster, and the method for coordinating to meet the needs of that situation. It <br /> describes the action to be taken (who, what, where, when and how) on the basis <br /> of assumptions, objectives, and capabilities. <br /> OCP — Operational Continuity Plan — may be referred to as a Business Continuity <br /> or Disaster Recovery plan. Documentation of steps taken to ensure the <br /> continuous availability of critical functions during emergencies and disasters. <br /> ODP — Office of Domestic Preparedness —A division of DHS. <br /> OSHA - Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Department of Labor) <br /> P <br /> PIO — Public Information Officer <br /> PSAP — Public Safety Answering Point— location where 9-1-1 calls are received <br /> and from which emergency first responders are dispatched. <br /> R <br /> Radiological Monitor- An individual trained to measure, record, and report <br /> radiation exposure and exposure rates; provide limited field guidance on <br /> radiation hazards associated with operations to which she/he is assigned; and <br /> perform operator's maintenance of radiological instruments. <br /> RCEOC - Ramsey County Emergency Operations Center <br /> Recovery Team - A group of staff predetermined to recover resources. <br /> Risk - The degree to which people, property, environment, and social and <br /> economic activity are susceptible to injury, damage, disruption, or death. <br /> Risk Analysis - The process of identifying the exposures to certain events which <br /> a company may experience. The risk analysis often involves an evaluation of the <br /> probabilities of a particular event. This process is similar to the process actuaries <br /> use to help determine insurance rates.
