The total cost for Option 2 with the posts (including cement) is $3,385.63, including tax. <br />Vacker Inc. indicated that cement would not be necessary for these signs. However, the PTRC <br />recommendation is to include cement. <br />The PTRC discussed the mapping element of the trail signage and below are the elements they <br />are recommending: <br />1. 201ocations as indicated on the attached map (Attachment C) <br />2. No mileage will be included. A scale will be included on the bottom of the map. <br />3. No proposed trails will be included, only existing trails. <br />4. 3-4 zoomed in sections of the map with a"you are here" arrow for each sign. <br />5. Each map would have a small box on the bottom of the map showing where the trail <br />user is in relation to the entire City trail system. This would not be a very detailed <br />map. <br />6. The PTRC and Council should have the opportunity to review the proposed maps <br />before signs go to production. <br />The PTRC at their regular meeting on May 15, 2012, made a motion to recommend option 2 of <br />the proposed trail signage, the 20 suggested trail locations and cedar posts installed with cement. <br />The motion carried unanimously. <br />Bud�et <br />The Capital Improvement Plan includes $3,000 for park amenities from the Public Improvement <br />Revolving Fund (PIR). The PTRC discussed utilizing this $3,000 for trail signage in 2012 at the <br />joint Council/PTRC meeting in February. <br />Requested Action <br />Motion to contract with Vacker Inc. for the production of trail signage panels in the amount of <br />$2,885.63 and authorize an additional $500 expenditure for City staff to purchase posts and <br />cement. <br />K3 <br />
