lt �- RQEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: October 8, 2012 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Patrick Klaers, City Administrator FROM: Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services SUBJECT: Multiple Resolutions for Audit and Official Record Keeping Purposes Background/Discussion: In January 2012, Resolution No. 2012-001 relating to the organization of the City of Arden Hills was adopted designating a list of appointments. Since its adoption, there have been some changes to the organization. The changes are as follows: On May 14, 2012, the City Council approved the appointment of Amy Died as Deputy Clerk. In August of 2012, City Attorney Jerry Filla changed law firms and is now with Kelly & Lemmons, P.A. On April 30, 2012, City Council approved Miriam Ward to serve as the City representative to the Northwest Youth& Family Services. For years, the City had been contracting with Animal Control Services (ACS) for its animal control needs. When the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office decided to provide similar services, ACS'S services were no longer needed. The City extended its agreement with ACS on January 9, 2012, on a month-to-month basis with an anticipated end date of March 31, 2012, or until Ramsey County was able to officially take over this service. Ramsey County has been providing these services since April 1, 2012, and is appointed as the animal control officers for the City of Arden Hills. For audit purposes and for City records, staff would like to officially update these changes in the City records by resolution because they differ from the resolution originally designating these appointments in January 2012. Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of Resolution 2012-033, a resolution appointing Amy Died as Deputy Clerk; approval of Resolution 2012-034, a resolution designating Kelly & Lemmons, P.A. as the criminal and civil legal services consultant; approval of Resolution 2012-035, a resolution appointing Miriam Ward to the Northwest Youth & Family Services; and Resolution 2012-036, a resolution appointing Ramsey County as the animal control officers.
