This policy was prepared using the League of Minnesota Cities <br /> Insurance Trust (LMCIT) model as a guide. Staff has also reviewed the policy with <br /> Jackie Torgerson, Senior Loss Control Consultant from Berkley Risk Administrators <br /> Company, the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust administrator and our <br /> insurance representative. Ms. Torgerson was specifically asked about the policy <br /> statement regarding televising the system every ten years and she indicated that is in line <br /> with the LMC recommendations. Having an adopted sewer policy was one of the <br /> recommendations of Ms. Torgerson when the City went through the LMCIT sanitary <br /> sewer assessment. <br /> Generally, the City's sanitary sewer system is comprised of: <br /> • 46 miles of collection system ranging in size from 8 inches to 21 inches <br /> • 1100 manholes <br /> • 14 lift stations <br /> • 4.4 miles of forcemain <br /> Of the 46 miles of collection system, the general breakdown of material type is: <br /> • 18.2 miles of PVC (plastic) pipe <br /> • 18.1 miles of VCP (clay) pipe <br /> • 5.3 miles of CIPP (lined) clay pipe <br /> • 4.4 miles of concrete pipe (larger lines) <br /> City Council Meeting <br /> R\Admin\Council\Agendas&Packet Information\2012\10-08-12 Reg Mtg\Packet\10-8-12Sanitary Sewer Maintenance <br /> Policy.doc <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
