lt <br /> EN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: October 8,2012 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Omni Site Lift Station Monitoring <br /> Background <br /> This year the City reconstructed and/or rehabilitated seven of our fourteen lift stations. <br /> With these seven lift stations the monitoring method was changed to the Omni Site. This <br /> is an independent web based monitoring system that will eliminate the need for Electro <br /> Watchman and will replace the need for a SCADA system. This system basically <br /> provides information through the internet similar to a SCADA system but does not allow <br /> operational adjustments to be made through the internet which is a feature our Public <br /> Works Department decided they did not need. <br /> The Council has asked the cost of converting the remaining seven lift stations to the <br /> Omni Site system to complete the change out of the monitoring method. Attached is a <br /> quote from Electric Pump Company indicating the cost would be $3,150.00 for each of <br /> the seven lift stations or a total cost of $22,050.00.
