, t <br /> --A EN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> Date: October 29, 2012 <br /> TO: Mayor and Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Amy Died, Deputy Clerk <br /> SUBJECT: Hand In Hand Christian Montessori Gambling Permit <br /> Background <br /> The City has received an application from Hand In Hand Christian Montessori for an Exempt <br /> Gambling Permit for a fundraising raffle to be held Saturday, December 1, 2012, at North <br /> Heights Lutheran Church, 1700 W Highway 96, Arden Hills. According to Minnesota's Lawful <br /> Gambling regulations, they are required to obtain acknowledgment from the City they are <br /> holding the event in. This does not require a permit or license from the City as it is not a premise <br /> permit. <br /> As part of the requirement of LG220 Application for Exempt Permit, the City must acknowledge <br /> the application with no waiting period, with a 30 day waiting period, or deny the application. <br /> The date of this raffle is Saturday, December 1, 2012. <br /> Recommendation <br /> Staff does not see any reason to impose a 30-day waiting period on this application. Staff <br /> recommends that the City Council approve a motion acknowledging the application of Hand In <br /> Hand Christian Montessori for an Exempt Permit to conduct a raffle on Saturday, December 1, <br /> 2012, with no waiting period. <br />
