lt <br /> ,-ARZEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 19,2012 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br /> Kyle Howard, Finance Analyst <br /> SUBJECT: 2013 —2017 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br /> Background <br /> As part of the 2013 budget process, a five-year capital improvement plan is prepared. <br /> Staff prepared the preliminary CIP for Council discussion as part of this process. <br /> Discussion <br /> Staff last discussed the CIP as a whole with the City Council at the June 18th work <br /> session. Since that time, staff has discussed various items with Council at work sessions. <br /> Staff has modified the preliminary CIP and updated any changes in the plans or the cost <br /> estimates since the council last saw the plan. A summary of major changes is as follows: <br /> • Moved jetter/vac truck from 2013 to 2014 <br /> • Reduced the CR E Streetscaping project to 2.0 million and divided into two <br /> projects (2015 and 2018) <br /> • Changed the future PMP projects to reclamation instead on reconstruction and <br /> reduced the cost accordingly <br /> • Left the Venus/Glenview neighborhood in 2015 <br /> • Put West Round Lake project in 2016 <br /> • Moved Indian Oaks/Floral Dr area PMP to 2022 <br /> • Moved Old Snelling reclaiming and bridge project to 2025 <br /> • Moved other future PMP projects to 2028 and 2031 <br /> • Maintain and average expenditure per year for all street items of$1,000,000 over <br /> period 2013-2032 <br /> City Council Meeting <br /> P:\Finance\Finance Director\2013 Budget\CIP\2013 CIP Final-Memo.docx <br /> Page 1 of 1 <br />
