lt <br /> ,ARZEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 26, 2012 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Directo <br /> SUBJECT: Valentine Park Improvements - Payment #3/Change Order 42 <br /> Background <br /> The City of Arden Hills awarded Interstate Pavement Maintenance of Forest Lake, <br /> Minnesota, the Valentine Park Improvement Project on April 30, 2012, for a total contract <br /> amount of$321,757.00. There has been one change order that decreased the total cost by <br /> $3,014.85. <br /> Discussion <br /> This pay request includes work on the project completed through the end of the 2012 <br /> construction season. The major work completed as a part of this payment includes in and <br /> around the large rain garden. <br /> Change Order #2 increases the total project cost by $9,018.78. This is due to the slow draw <br /> down time of the rain garden. After a geotechnical review it was decided to build a rock <br /> bedding around the three main drain tile lines in the rain garden. <br /> Financial Implications <br /> The total amount earned by the contractor including Change Order #2 is $205,952.32. After <br /> subtracting retainage of 5% and previous pay estimates, the amount due the contractor for <br /> Pay Estimate #3 is $18,617.74.
