lt <br /> EN HILLS <br /> Approved: <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MEETING <br /> OCTOBER 15,2012 <br /> 5:00 PMāARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Pro-Tem Nick Tamble called to order the <br /> City Council Work Session meeting at 5:03 p.m. <br /> Present: Mayor David Grant (arrived at 5:04 p.m.); Councilmembers Brenda <br /> Holden, Fran Holmes, and Nick Tamble <br /> Absent: Councilmember Ed Werner(excused) <br /> Also present: City Administrator Patrick Klaers; Director of Finance and Administrative <br /> Services Sue Iverson; Parks and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson; Public Works <br /> Director Terry Maurer; Community Development Director Jill Hutmacher; City Planner <br /> Meagan Beekman; and Deputy City Clerk Amy Dietl <br /> 1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> The Council accepted the agenda as presented. <br /> 2. AGENDA ITEMS <br /> A. Celebrating Arden Hills City Festival Recap , <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson provided a recap of the 2012 Celebrating Arden Hills <br /> City Festival, which took place on September 15, 2012. She explained that an attempt was made <br /> to establish a volunteer committee to coordinate the event, but in the end, only one person <br /> committed to that task. As such, the planning of the event was primarily done by three people: <br /> Kim Tamble, resident of Arden Hills; Sara Grant, Recreation Programmer; and Michelle Olson, <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager. <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Olson noted that a budget of$25,000 was established with the <br /> thought that the City would contribute $10,000 and that contributions would cover the remaining <br /> $15,000. The City ended up receiving $11,625 in donations and in-kind donations, which was up <br /> from last year's event. Expenses remained approximately the same as last year, but the number of <br />
