Both vacancies are three year terms with an expiration of December 31, 2015. The <br /> City received a committee application on November 20, 2012 from John Van Valkenburg. The <br /> Committee Guidelines do not require an interview. Staff reviewed the application and <br /> conferred with Council Liaison Brenda Holden and PTRC Chair Cindy Garretson. The panel <br /> felt comfortable recommending Mr. Van Valkenburg based on his application, without a formal <br /> interview. Mr. Van Valkenburg lives near Floral Park on Royal Lane. His family has been <br /> heavily involved in our Parks and Recreation Programs over the past 10 years. He has been a <br /> volunteer coach for both soccer and t-ball, helped with buckthorn clean up days and his son Alec <br /> completed an Eagle Scout project for the City this past spring.
