It <br /> EN HILLS <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2012-053 <br /> RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE CONTRACT <br /> BETWEEN THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS AND THE <br /> LAKE JOHANNA FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills entered into a Fire Protection Service <br /> Contract ("Contract") with the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. <br /> ("Fire Department"), approved by Resolution No. 98-68, adopted on November <br /> 30, 1998; <br /> WHEREAS, the Contract was effective January 1, 1999, through <br /> December 31, 2003; and <br /> WHEREAS, in Resolution 07-62 the City extended the Contract for a five <br /> year term from January 1, 2004, through December 31, 2008; and <br /> WHEREAS, in Resolution 2011-033, the City extended the Contract for a <br /> five year term from January 1, 2009, through December 31, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Contract states that the Contract may be extended for a <br /> third term of an additional five years provided the City of Arden Hills adopts a <br /> resolution by three affirmative votes expressing the City's intent to extend the <br /> term of the Contract, and communicate such resolution in writing to the Fire <br /> Department at least one year prior to the end of the Contract; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Arden Hills City Council <br /> that the City of Arden Hills intended to, and hereby does, renew the Contract with <br /> the Fire Department for the term of January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2018. <br /> ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> THIS 17' DAY OF DECEMBER, 2012. <br /> David Grant, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br />
