,!r-, - ILL MEMORANDUM DATE: January 14, 2013 TO: Patrick Klaers, City Administrator Honorable Mayor and City Council Members FROM: Michelle Olson, Parks and Recreation Manager �?d1 SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2013-007: Appointing Matthew Trites to serve on the Parks Trails and Recreation Committee for a term expiring December 31, 2015. Background The Parks Trails and Recreation Committee (PTRC) currently has eleven members. The guidelines state that this committee can have up to twelve members. Therefore, the PTRC has one current vacancy. Staff recently received two applications for this vacancy from Warren Wildes and Matthew Trites. A panel of Council Liaison Brenda Holden, PTRC Chair Nancy O'Malley and I reviewed the applications and decided to interview Mr. Trites. It was determined that Mr. Wildes would be ineligible for membership at this time due to his absence for 6 months during the winter. The panel conducted an interview of Matthew Trites on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. After completing the interview, the panel recommends (Resolution 2013-007 - Attachment B) Matthew Trites for appointment to the PTRC. The application for Mr. Trites has been included for your review (Attachment A). Committee terms rotate and the one opening has a three year term expiring on December 31, 2015.
