2 <br /> Frequently the completion of such a project has a major impact on the operations of <br /> the department or the City as a whole. This category recognizes employees for such <br /> accomplishments. <br /> The ERC announced the Employee of the Year at an all employee luncheon on Thursday, <br /> December 19, 2012. The 2012 Employee of the Year is Kyle Howard of the Finance and <br /> Administrative Services Department. The following are a few of the comments included <br /> on the nomination for Kyle: <br /> Kyle Howard—Finance and Administrative Services Department, Finance Analyst <br /> • Began with City as a finance intern in February, 2009 <br /> • Employed full time with City since November, 2010. <br /> • Extremely dedicated and has helped bring the finance department to a new level. <br /> • Consistently projects a positive image of the City. <br /> • Assisted Finance Director with the budget, Capital Improvement Plan, forecasting <br /> and working with the Financial Planning and Analysis Committee. <br /> • Has picked up several projects and managed them; in particular,the utility rate <br /> study for the City's utilities. <br /> • Has been instrumental in developing procedures and internal controls in the Finance <br /> Department. <br /> • Is the point person for Springbrook software, Plan It, SharePoint, City credit card <br /> programs and RevTrak. <br /> • Continually reviews processes and recommends changes to implement in the future. <br /> • Was a key factor in helping with the utility billing system and the Springbrook <br /> software conversions. <br /> • Worked on the City's forecasting model and has made significant progress in <br /> making the model operational for us to do forecasting. <br /> • Consistently stepped in and helped the Finance Director and has taken on <br /> responsibilities at times that are not in his job description, which has been a great <br /> asset to the finance department and to the City. <br /> Recognition for Year's of Service <br /> The Employee Recognition Committee recognized four individuals for Years of Service. <br /> The policy states that employees shall be recognized for every five (5) years of <br /> employment with the City. Employees shall receive a certificate from the City recognizing <br /> them for their years of service.
