,ARQEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: January 28, 2013 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers FROM: Patrick Klaers, City Administrator SUBJECT: Discuss JDA Interviews Background/Discussion On January 14th the City Council decided to interview four citizens to serve as the non- elected member of the Joint Development Authority. Letters have been sent to these residents regarding the February 4, 2013 interviews. At this time, I have had confirmation back from three of the applicants and I expect to hear back from the fourth applicant by Monday's meeting. At this January 28th work session, I would like to obtain some feedback from the Council on interview questions. After I receive your input, staff will put together a list of possible questions and the Council can adjust, add or delete from the final draft at the beginning of the February 4th meeting. I am not including any sample interview questions with this memo as, at this time, I don't think that we should make the draft interview questions public information. Also at tonight's work session, the Council should discuss the format for the interviews. For example, who will be asking the questions; and what criteria will be used to rank or rate the applicants.
