ARDEN HILLS EDA MEETING JANUARY 28, 2013 2 <br />3. CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br /> <br />A. Economic Development Authority By-Laws <br /> <br />MOTION: EDA Commissioner Holmes moved and EDA Commissioner Holden <br />seconded a motion to approve the Consent Calendar as presented. The <br />motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />4. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />A. Economic Development Commission (EDC) 2013 Work Plan <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br />indicated the EDC approved its 2013 Work <br />Plan on December 5, 2012. The EDC Work Plan is primarily focused on the City Council goal <br />and development-EDC goals have been defined in four categories and were <br />then prioritized. The goals with a higher priority would be addressed in the first and second <br />quarters of the year, while the remaining would be addressed in the third and fourth quarters as <br />time permits. Staff recommended the EDA approve the EDC 2013 Work Plan. <br /> <br />EDC Chair von Holtum <br />reviewed the EDC Work Plan in detail with the Commission noting <br />new member recruitment is essential. Several other priorities discussed included the revolving <br />loan program, marketing and outreach, and business visits. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br /> explained the first open seat on the EDC could <br />be filled by either an Arden Hills resident or business owner. <br /> <br />EDC Chair von Holtum <br /> commented that <br />website. <br /> <br />EDA Commissioner Holden <br /> discussed the survey completed by business owners noting there <br />were no major concerns expressed by the business community. <br /> <br />EDA President Grant <br /> suggested the EDC write an article to feature a local business in the <br />sses. <br /> <br />EDC Chair von Holtum <br /> indicated this could also be done by business type and have all <br />businesses in the community featured over time. <br /> <br />Community Development Director Hutmacher <br /> stated a newsletter article was proposed for the <br />recruitment of EDC members. She commented that Delkor Systems would be highlighted in the <br />newsletter and on the website as a new business in the community. <br /> <br />EDA Commissioner Holden <br /> suggested the EDC feature businesses in the community by <br />sections of the community and focus on these areas within different newsletters. <br /> <br />
