In summary, the business that were surveyed along County Road E were
in a split in their support for and their contribution to the banners. It was
suggested that additional businesses should be surveyed in the area to
accurately determine support for the replacement of the banners. Ray
McGraw and Ted Brausen said they would do more surveying and report
back with their findings at the next EDC meeting.
6. COUNCIL REPORT
Council Liaison Aplikowski stated that the Council was going to be
making a decision of the Quad Ice Arena by September 30, 1996.
The City is scheduled to interview Architectural firms for the new City
Hall.
The City is looking into a Joint Maintenance Facility for the Public
Works area. It would be combined with the National Guard, Ramsey
County and the City of Arden Hills Public Works on the arsenal
property.
Council Liaison Aplikowski requested the comments from the EDC on
the proposed locations for a new City Hall.
Ted Brausen stated that they should have the City Hall in the downtown
area of Arden Hills (Count Road E). The City should consider looking at
MSI claims building, Carroll's furniture, and/or other possible buildings
in the downtown area.
Steve Friemuth stated that the City should lease a building and wait out
for the arsenal property to build the new City Hall. The City should not
hire an architect firm without having the land.
Ray McGraw stated that the City should have the Public Works Facility
on the Arsenal Property. He stated that it would not be a good idea to
have a Joint Public Works Facility, because they would want to share
things, but not share in the responsibility.
7. MISCELLANEOUS
The Law Firm of Hansen, Dordell, Bradt, Odlaug & Bradt has relocated
at 3900 Northwoods Drive in the Northwoods office complex.
•
