CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> ® MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: August 15, 1996 <br /> TO: Economic Development Committee <br /> FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Director <br /> SUBJECT: Banners <br /> The EDC at their August of 1996 meeting requested that the businesses along County Road E be <br /> queried as to their support and potential contribution to the replacement of the existing banners. <br /> EDC members McGraw and Brausen volunteered to act as liaison with these businesses and to <br /> report back to the EDC on their findings. The initial findings were reported back to the EDC at <br /> the September 18, 1996 meeting of the EDC. Of the 13 businesses surveyed adjacent to County <br /> Road E: three (3) of the businesses had no response; five (5) of the businesses said the banners <br /> identified the area as the downtown area; and five (5) of the businesses said the banners don't <br /> identify the area as a downtown area. <br /> • In summary, the business that were surveyed along County Road E were in split in their support <br /> for and their contribution to the banners. It was suggested that additional businesses should be <br /> surveyed in the area to accurately determine support for the replacement of the banners.
