UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: March 11, 2013 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Terry Maurer, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2013 PMP - Resolution Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering the <br />Advertisement for Bids <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Sources: <br />$1,700,000 $1,165,678 PIR, Sanitary Sewer, Water, <br />Surface Water Management <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Adopt Resolution 2013-014 Approving Plans and Specifications and Ordering the Advertisement <br />for Bids for the 2013 Pavement Management Program <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />On January 14, 2013 the City Council held the Public Hearing for the 2013 PMP project. After <br />the Public Hearing was concluded the City Council adopted Resolution 2013-003 Ordering the <br />Improvement and the Preparation of Plans and Specifications. Based on comments from the <br />Public Hearing, the Council directed staff to prepare the plans based on reclaiming of the <br />bituminous surface rather than a full reconstruction that would also include new concrete curb <br />and gutter. This provided for a lower estimated assessment to each property and maintained the <br /> In addition, this approach also minimized impacts to trees, <br />retaining walls and other items near the existing street surface. <br /> <br />As a reminder, the estimated project costs for a street reclamation project and ancillary utility <br />improvements as presented at the Public Hearing is reproduced as follows: <br /> <br />12 <br />Page of <br /> <br />
