Manufacturing and Service Businesses Boost Hirings in <br /> Northwest and West Central Regions <br /> New businesses in the Northwest region created three times as many jobs as the previous <br /> quarter's start-ups, resulting in a rate of job creation well above the other six regions. <br /> Although the Twin City Area had a higher rate of business start-ups (2.9 percent) compared to <br /> the Northwest region (2.4 percent), new businesses in the Northwest region tended to be <br /> larger than in the Twin City Areas <br /> Regional Large manufacturing and service companies in the Northwest and West Central Regions continued <br /> Analysis major expansions after a turn-around in eariv 1994.
