Ordinance 2013-003 <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> ORDINANCE 2013-003 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10, SUBD. 3 <br /> AND CHAPTER 6, SUBD. 5 (A) and (B) <br /> OF THE CITY CODE <br /> The Arden Hills City Council hereby ordains that Chapter 10, Subd. 3 of the City Code shall <br /> hereby be amended as follows: <br /> 1000.21 Meters and Hydrants. <br /> Subd. 3 Meter Accuracy Testing. A consumer may have his or her meter tested for <br /> accuracy by making written request and submitting required fee (see fee schedule <br /> appendix to City Code)to the City Administrator. In the event the test shows an error <br /> exceeding the percentage specified in the City's fee schedule of the water allegedly <br /> consumed, the deposit shall be refunded to the consumer and a correctly-registering <br /> meter shall be installed, with the bill to be adjusted in accordance with the corrected <br /> reading. If there is no error or the error is less than the percentage specified in the <br /> City's fee schedule, the deposit shall be retained by the City. Any adjustment shall <br /> not extend for more than one billing period before the date of the request for test. The <br /> deposit charges for meter testing shall be as established from time to time in a <br /> resolution adopted by the Council. <br /> The Arden Hills City Council also hereby ordains that Chapter 6, Subd. 5 (A) and (B) of the City <br /> Code shall hereby be amended as follows: <br /> Subd. 5 User Fees; Notice. <br /> A. An alarm user owning an alarm system which precipitates or reports more than <br /> two (2) false alarms to the City in a single calendar year shall be charged a user fee <br /> per false alarm in excess of two (2) false alarms in a calendar year, and a user fee per <br /> false alarm in excess of ten(10) false alarms in a calendar year. <br /> B. Upon receipt of a third and all subsequent false alarm reports as to an alarm <br /> system, the City Administrator shall notify the alarm user by certified mail that the <br /> threshold number of false alarms has occurred and that the applicable user fee <br /> specified has become due and owing. The user fees shall be established from time to <br /> time by Council resolution. <br /> Effective Date.
