ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION—JULY 8, 2013 2 <br /> State Senator Scalze discussed the use of coal tar in driveway sealants noting that this compound <br /> will no longer be allowed in the State of Minnesota due to the fact it is hazardous to both people <br /> and waterways. <br /> City Administrator Klaers questioned the likelihood of the State approving funding for TCAAP <br /> roads in 2014. <br /> State Senator Scalze stated that she will continue to work on this issue as TCAAP in Ramsey <br /> County has needs for $35 million in bonding for roads. Further discussion ensued regarding the <br /> need for bridge maintenance in the northeast metro. <br /> Mayor Grant commented that the Highway 96 and I-35W bridge is deficient and in need of <br /> repair. He encouraged the representatives to seek funding to assist with the bridge reconstruction. <br /> State Senator Scalze understood that each of the County roads in the area are in need of repair. <br /> She encouraged the City to seek local businesses and residents to assist in lobbying on the City's <br /> behalf. She requested that the City keep her updated on the TCAAP redevelopment as it <br /> progresses. <br /> Mayor Grant invited the representatives to attend the upcoming TCAAP open house and thanked <br /> them both for the updates provided this evening. <br /> 3.
