From a.budget perspective, the replacement of these two mowers was tentatively scheduled for
2017. In the 2013 CIP there is an item at $100,000 for the replacement of the 2000 Backhoe.
That replacement is not going to be requested this year or in the foreseeable fiiture. This is due
to the fact that it is used less and less every year. More water main has been replaced in our most
prone water main break areas and with the amotnnt of fiber optic lines and other underground
small utilities we are contracting out more of these excavations.
The potential of replacing these mowers this year was discussed with Finance Du ector Sue
Iverson. Given the value of the existing mowers as trade-ins(since they still have a warranty and
were purchased Lander retail inarket pricing) and the expected increase in the same model next
year due to emission regulations, she concurs that this issue should be discussed with the City
Council. If the Council were to authorize this purchase it would be fLulded by the
Equipment/Building Replacement Fund.
Attachment
1.
