CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, JUNE 18, 2013 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br />Interim Chair Garretson called the June18, 2013, meeting of the Parks, Trails, and Recreation <br />Committee to order at 5:00 p.m. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Committee Members Rich Straumann, Steve Scott, John Peck, Don <br />Messerly, Cindy Garretson, Matt Trites, Harold Petersen, John Van Valkenburg, Phil Kramlinger <br />and Chuck Michaelson. Chair Nancy O’Malley arrived at 5:20 p.m. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> Parks and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson and Council Liaison Fran <br />Holmes. <br />ABSENT: <br /> Committee Member Jane Larson. <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />MOTION: <br /> Committee Member Messerly motioned to approve the agenda seconded by <br /> Committee Member Trites. The motion carried unanimously (9-0). <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – April 16 , 2013 <br />MOTION: <br /> Committee Member Straumann motioned to approve the April 16, 2013, minutes as <br />presented, seconded by Committee Member Petersen. The motion carried <br />unanimously (9-0). <br />3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />A. Parks Survey Question Review <br />Ms. Olson reported that Chair O’Malley attended the May 28 Council work session to get <br />input from Council on the Community Parks, Trails and Recreation survey questions. <br />For the most part, the questions were well received; however, Council opted to remove <br />the question regarding taxes, a question on senior programming was added and some <br />questions were reworded. Staff is planning on putting the link to the survey on the <br />website on July 1, 2013. There will also be a blurb in the newsletter, as well as an insert <br />included in the utility bills, directing individuals to the link. <br />B. Other Unfinished Business <br /> None <br />
