MEMORANDUM <br />2.A <br />DATE: <br />October 9, 2013 <br />PC Agenda Item <br /> <br />TO: <br />Planning Commission <br />FROM: <br />Ryan Streff,City Planner <br />SUBJECT: <br />Planning Commission Appointment <br />Background/Discussion <br />Brent Bartel submitted an application to be considered for appointment on the Planning <br />Commission. Consistent with the City’s policy on commission and committee appointments, the <br />applicant was interviewed by a panel consisting of the Mayor, the Chair of the Planning <br />Commission, the Council Liaison to the Planning Commission, and the staff Liaison to the <br />Planning Commission. <br />The interview panel agreed that Mr. Bartel would be a valuable addition to the Planning <br />Commission based on his interview, his qualifications, and his experience. <br />Mayor Grant asked that staff prepare a recommendation for the City Council to appoint Mr. <br />Bartel to the Planning Commission. <br />City Council Action <br />Duringthe Regular City Council meeting on September 30, 2013, the Council unanimously <br />approved the recommendation from Mayor Grant to appoint Mr. Bartel to the Planning <br />Commission. <br />Attachments <br />A.Application <br />City of Arden Hills <br />Planning Commission Meeting for October 9, 2013 <br />P:\Planning\Planning Commission\PC Miscellaneous\Interview\2013 Planning Commission Interview <br />Page 1of 1 <br />
