City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective August 26, 2003 <br /> <br /> <br />GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE <br /> <br />If an employee has a complaint about the manner in which he/she is treated as an employee <br />of the City of Arden Hills, such complaint shall be addressed by <br />follows: <br /> <br />Step 1. The employee shall orally present the complaint to the employe <br />manager within seven (7) calendar days after the event. The department manager shall <br />the complaint with the employee and answer the complaint within <br />after receipt of the complaint. Should the complaint involve the department manager, then <br />the employee should proceed directly to Step 2. <br /> <br />Step 2. If the complaint is not resolved in Step 1, it may be appealed <br />Administrator within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of th <br />manager. Any complaint not appealed to the City Administrator within this period shall be <br />waived. The complaint must be submitted to the City Administrato <br />the facts of the complaint, and the relief sought. The City Admi <br />complaint and provide the employee with a written statement of the City's final positi <br />within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of the complaint by <br /> <br />Step 3. If the complaint is not resolved in Step 2, it may be appealed t <br />within seven (7) calendar days after receipt of the reply from the City <br />complaint not appealed to the City Council within this period sh <br />be placed on the agenda for the next regularly scheduled meetingCouncil. The <br />employee and a representative of the employee shall have the rig <br />Council at this meeting. A final ruling on the complaint shall b <br />City Council members within thirty (30) calendar days after receipt of the complaint. <br /> <br /> <br /> 49 <br />
