City of Arden Hills Personnel Policy Effective August 26, 2003 <br /> <br />TECHNOLOGY POLICY Adopted December 10, 2001 <br /> <br />Purposes <br />but not limited to, electronic mail (e-mail) and the internet, are to provide an efficient and <br />effective means of internal and external communications and to improve work product. This <br />policy addresses access to and disclosure of information from su <br /> <br />Among other things, this policy is intended to guide City employ <br />contractors in the performance of their duties. <br /> <br />This policy serves as notice to the employees, volunteers, and c <br />data, including any that is stored or printed as a document, is subject to audit and review. <br />There is no expectation of personal privacy in the use of the internet and e-mail systems <br />when using the computers or services provided by the City. <br /> <br />Finally, this policy serves to delineate acceptable use of the i-mail systems by <br />City employees, volunteers, and contractors (c <br />domain names, and/or e-mail services registered to or provided by the City of Arden Hills. It <br />seeks to ensure that the use of the internet and e-mail systems by City employees, volunteers, <br />and contractors while conducting work for the City and/or while <br />responsibilities. <br /> <br />Statement of Policy <br />The City promotes internet and e-mail use that enables employees, volunteers, and <br />contractors to perform City missions and encourages its employee <br />contractors to develop skill in the usage of internet and e-mail.It is expected that employees <br />will use the internet and e-mail to improve their job knowledge; to access scientific, techn <br />and other information on topics which have relevance to the City <br />their peers in other government agencies, academia, and industry on matters of relevance to <br />their work for the City. <br /> <br />Responsible Use <br />Users are advised not to the use the internet or e-mail systems for any purpose which would <br />reflect negatively on the City or its employees. <br /> <br />Property of the City of Arden Hills <br />-mail and internet systems are business tools.
