UfalNG k ASSNATIS TAU1 UOP19 April 25, 2012 File: 170010E - 0060 Mr. Terry Maurer, Public Works Director City of Arden Hills 1245 West Highway 96 Arden Hills, MN 55112 RE: Lift Station 1 and 12 Improvements Recommendation of Award Dear Mr. Maurer: Bids were opened for the above referenced project at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in accordance with the Advertisement for Bids. The project consists of the rehabilitation of Lift Station 1, which is located at 3196 Cleveland Avenue N, and Lift Station 12, which is located at 1965 Thom Drive. The project also included an Alternate Schedule for replacement of the forcemain at Lift Station 12. Four (4) bids were received from the following companies listed below from lowest to highest total bid: Corporation Total Base Bid Alternate Total Bid Magney Construction $266,800.00 $24,820.00 $291,620.00 Northdale Construction, Co. $273,000.00 $25,404.00 $298,404.00 Minger Construction $276,830.00 $28,579.50 $305,409.50 Geislinger and Sons $294,000.00 $16,060.00 $310,060.00 Based on the bids received, Magney Construction is the low bidder. The low bid received appears to be competitive and the bids have been reviewed for errors and/or omissions. Magney Construction has completed similar work for other municipalities including St. Louis Park, Eden Prairie, and Spring Lake Park. We would consider them to be a responsible and responsive bidder. We have discussed the project with Magney Construction and they are prepared to meet the construction schedule laid out in the specifications.
