 EN HILLS
March 26, 2012
Mr. Joe Lux
Planning Specialist
Ramsey County Public Works
1425 Paul Kirkwold Drive
Arden Hills, MN 55112
RE: Lexington Avenue (CSAH 51)
TED Funding Application
Dear Mr. Lux:
The City of Arden Hills strongly supports the County's application for Transportation and
Economic Development (TED) funding for capacity and turn lane improvements on
Lexington Avenue from approximately 500 feet south of I-694 to 600 feet north of
County Road F. As you are aware, Mn/DOT is under construction on an interstate
project on I-694 that will eliminate eastbaund I-694 access at Hamline Avenue thus
forcing more traffic to the Lexington Avenue interchange. This issue was a key point in
our City's negotiation with Mn/DOT over granting Municipal Consent. As you know, it
took almost nine months for our City Council to adopt a Municipal Consent resolution.
This was done only after Mn/DOT agreed to include capacity and turn lane
improvements on the Lexington Avenue bridge in their project. Your project will
continue these very important improvements.
Once again, the City strongly supports the County's application. If we can be of any
further assistance, do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerel
 r«u.
Terry aurer, P.E.
Public Works Director
City of Arden Hills 1245 West Highway 96 Arden Hills, MN SSll2-5743
Phone 651.792.7800 Fax 651.634.5137 www.ci.arden-hills.mn.us
