CONSENT ITEM 5B <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br />December 9, 2013 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: <br /> Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> Patrick Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br />Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> 2014 Employee Compensation Plan Non Union Employees <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Annually the City sets the compensation for non-union employs for the next calendar <br />year at its meeting in December. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Annually the City Council evaluates its compensation plan and determines if a cost of <br />living adjustment (COLA) is appropriate. The 2014 budget was prepared with a 2% <br />increase for employees in 2014 and discussed with the City Council who were in favor of <br />this increase. <br /> <br />The seasonal employee compensation plan has been reviewed by staff and no adjustments <br />have been made to this plan for 2014. <br /> <br />Attached are the compensation plans for January 1, 2014, for non-union employees for <br />Council approval. <br /> <br /> <br />Council Action <br /> <br />Motion to approve the 2014 Employee Compensation Plan for non-union employees <br />effective January 1, 2014 as presented and the Seasonal Employee 2014 Part-time scale <br />as presented. <br />
