Mot;...-. to Approve e A„ nt nt of Planner-1 Posit; . <br /> i <br /> MOTION: Councilmember Holmes moved and Councilmember Werner seconded a <br /> motion to approve the Consent Calendar as amended removing Item 5B and <br /> to authorize execution of all necessary documents contained therein. The <br /> motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> 6. PULLED CONSENT ITEMS <br /> A. Approval/Appointment of Planner I Position <br /> City Administrator Klaers stated that at the December 9, 2013, City Council meeting, the City <br /> Council majority agreed to reestablish the Planner I position and to have the current intern, <br /> Matthew Bachler, fill this position. In order to move ahead with 2014 scheduling, staff asks that <br /> the City Council approve Matthew Bachler's appointment to this position. <br /> MOTION: Councilmember McClung moved and Councilmember Holmes seconded a <br /> motion to approve appointing Matthew Bachler to the position of Planner I <br /> for the City of Arden Hills at Pay Grade 6, Step 1, effective January 1, 2014. <br /> Councilmember McClung commented that he wanted this item removed from the Consent <br /> Agenda because he would not be able to support this position being reestablished. <br /> Councilmember Holmes recommended that Matthew Bachler be added to the City website if this <br /> appointment is approved by the Council. <br /> Councilmember Holden and Councilmember Werner stated their support for the position and <br /> appointment. <br /> The motion carried (4-1) (McClung opposed). <br /> 7. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> None. <br /> 8. NEW BUSINESS <br /> None. <br /> 9. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> None. <br />
