AGENDA ITEM 1A

MEMORANDUM

DATE: December 16, 2013

TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
Patrick Klaers, City Administrator

FROM: Jill Hutmacher, Community Development Director

SUBJECT: TCAAP Redevelopment Partnership

Background/Discussion

At the August 19, 2013, City Council work session, representatives from the Saint Paul Area
Chamber of Commerce (SPACC) and Ramsey County introduced the TCAAP Redevelopment
Partnership (TRP). The TRP was established to educate the public and build support for the
project and the legislative funding requests. The TRP is not a formal or legal entity, rather a fluid
coalition working toward a common goal - the successful redevelopment of the TCAAP site.

At the December 16, 2013, City Council work session, Jonathan Weinhagen from the SPACC
will provide an update on the TRP's activities, including communications, outreach, and an
initiative with the Mounds View School District and their STEAM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum. This will also be an opportunity for the Council
to provide feedback as the TRP begins planning for 2014.

11
Page of
