ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION OCTOBER 21, 20132 <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Grant <br /> commented on Section 4 regarding overhangs. He questioned if plastic, canvas or <br />fiberglass should be used on overhangs. It was his opinion that plastic and canvas materials faded <br />and stretched out over time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> indicated that the language requires that overhangs remain in good <br />condition. She recommended that this be followed for all future developments. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant <br /> reported canvas awnings were just installed at Lexington Station by Mr. Davis. He <br />In addition, he <br />recommended the language <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember McClung <br /> agreed this language needed to be addressed. He recommended the <br />language read awnings or overhangs shall be provided at a buildings primary entry way. <br /> <br />City Planner Streff <br /> suggested staff review this language further. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> <br />regarding the monotony of the architectural design. <br /> <br />Mayor Grant <br /> questioned if the Council wanted to require outdoor seating and fencing for <br />restaurants in the B-2 district. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden <br /> did not oppose this requirement. <br /> <br />Community Development Intern Bachler <br /> indicated that if a restaurant was looking to locate in <br />the B-2 district and this requirement did not fit their use, the matter could be further discussed <br />with the Council. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
