Accommodating pedestrian and bicycle facilities in the roundabout’s facility will be very
important.
It was suggested that the TCAAP site might provide a good location for a hotel/retreat
center development – either in the town center area or on the thumb. Commissioners felt
that the thumb needed two access points.
The next TCAAP open house is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2014, 5:30 to 7:30 pm in
the Marsden Conference Room of the Ramsey County Public Works Facility. The City is using
several communications formats to advertise and promote the event. Post cards have been
mailed to every address in the City. Advertisements will run in the Shoreview-Arden Hills
Bulletin on January 8 and 15, 2014. The open house is posted on the City’s website and on the
cable bulletin service. A press release has been sent to the Pioneer Press,Star Tribune, and the
Shoreview-Arden Hills Bulletin. An email invitation will be sent to everyone who provided their
email addresses at the previous public meetings in July and September. The St. Paul Chamber of
Commerce will print and deliver flyers to Valentine Hills Elementary School for distribution in
student backpacks. The open house has also been announced at televised Planning Commission
and City Council meetings.
The open house will have a similar format to the September open house. Since people will be
coming and going throughout the event, a formal presentation is not scheduled. Rather,
attendees may view boards and ask questions of staff and consultants. Interactive activities will
allow attendees to give feedback on specific discussion topics such as housing/density, open
space areas/central wetland, and the roundabout.
22
Page of
