PULLED CONSENT ITEMS

A.2014 Tree Removal Contract

Public Works Director Maurer
stated that this item was originally on the November 12, 2013,
Council agenda. At that meeting, staff was directed to negotiate a better price for private citizens
for the treatment of Ash trees. This task has been completed by staff and the improved rates are
included in the 2014 tree removal contract being presented to the Council this evening.

Councilmember Holden
expressed concern with having the requirement that all Ash trees within
the City will be treated by this one proposed contractor.

Public Works Director Maurer
commented that the negotiated rate was an option for
homeowners. Residents may contact any tree vendor to have their Ash trees treated.

Mayor Grant
discussed the treatment for Emerald Ash Borer noting that the City negotiated a
great rate for residents interested in treating their trees. He encouraged the City to get the word
